KC KyoZen Gerpheide is
a senior Zen student of Genpo Roshi,
who is the founder of Kanzeon Sangha
in Salt Lake City and visionary leader
of Big Mind. In 2005, she received ordination
as a Zen monk (Shukke Tokudo). She is
a national instructor as well as clinical
worker in physical therapy and a past
recipient of Utah Physical Therapist
of the Year.
By incorporating Big
Mind into our physical practice we begin
to have a further understanding of not
only our mind but, the connection between
our body and mind, furthering us into
exploration.
I
am doing Big Mind/Big Heart work
because I believe it supports a positive
global change in conciousness that
begins with oneself. If we know ourself
better, what motivates us, what makes
us respond like we do, then perhaps
we can move into relationships with others
and oneself with a more open heart. The
goal of Big Mind/Big Heart is not to
change who we are but to illuminate the
part of oneself that has not been awakened.
In so doing we are able to be fully human,
fully engaged and living a more fulfilled
life.
